Electric Image Introduces Amorphium PRO With Real-Time 3D Modeling And Vector-Based Flash
San Francisco — At MacWorld Expo, Electric Image announced a professional version of its Amorphium real-time 3D sculpting and painting program, which won 14 industry awards for its intuitive approach to creating 3D graphics. The new application, Amorphium PRO, builds upon its predecessor‘s real-time interface, while adding significant new modeling, animation and rendering capabilities that make it ideal for 3D artists, Web animators, and graphic designers.
Amorphium PRO also forges new ground in creating vector-based 3D graphics for the Web. It combines rich 3D creation tools with the ability to save 3D objects and animations in a Flash format (.SWF), which can then be used independently or imported into Macromedia‘s Flash application. Amorphium PRO also produces optimized GIF and QuickTime animations, imports and exports all major 3D file formats, converts EPS graphics into 3D objects, and supports industry-standard 2D images for integration with design programs like Adobe Photoshop.

Key New Features
Amorphium PRO has a new interface design with layered project menus, tear-away tool palettes, a larger workspace and multiple windows views. A number of both conventional modeling and real-time sculpting tools have been added for more flexibility, faster creation of objects and scenes, and greater control when detailing complex objects.
Amorphium PRO offers new real-time sculpting and painting Brushes that can be edited and saved, advanced Booleans and synthetic Primitives for hard surface models, and Material properties for realistic texture maps, optics and surfaces. In addition to shaping objects by pushing and pulling on its surface with real-time brushes, a new tool called “Wax“ enables users to actually add or erase 3D geometry, such as drawing 3D branches from an object to make a tree.
Amorphium PRO also adds more robust morphing and animation capabilities with a keyframe-based timeline and support for virtually any number of objects, morph targets, lights, backgrounds and scene effects. New rendering capabilities include Raytracing for surface reflections and refractions, Radiosity for realistic scene lighting, as well as advanced smoke and lighting effects. Amorphium PRO can render imagery at virtually any resolution for any media, including print, Web, video and film.
