For the first time, Auto F/X Corporation‘s popular special effects products, Photo/Graphic Edges Volumes 1, II and III, are now available as plug-ins. By adapting to the standard plug-in format, Photo/Graphic Edges is now compatible with more graphic design programs than ever and its effects are fully automated.

Volume 1 - Traditional Edge Effects, focuses primarily on a more traditional type of edge effect such as those generated in the darkroom with emulsion transfers, film frames, film strips, deckled, ripped and tom edges. This more conservative set of effects is suitable for any type of design product.
Volume II- Geometric Edge Effects, focuses on various shapes which can add dimension and interest to artwork. The geometric shapes and abstract edges in this volume are perfect for the designer wanting to take a step away from the square photo box so prevalent in design.
VolumeIII - Artistic Edge Effects, focuses on hand crafted edges created using painted and mixed mediums. Artistic Edges includes watercolor washouts, acrylic brush strokes, rubbed charcoal, scratchboard and other types of mixed mediums.
NEW INTERFACE
Photo/Graphic Edges‘ new interface supports the Photoshop 3.0+ plug-in standard, making the product compatible with numerous graphic design, layout or illustration programs. Photo/Graphic Edges‘ interface allows designers to automatically fuse images into the shape of thousands of different edge effects, seamlessly bleeding the photo to the very edge of the effect. Photos can be given a new layer of definition by applying another edge effect that frames the fused image. In preview mode, a user can see the results of any new changes without actually applying the effect. A detailed full color user guide offers a catalog of effects and simple step-by-step instructions.
EASILY CHANGE LOOK OF EFFECTS
Photo/Graphic Edges allows users to control the scale, sharpness, feather, rotation, vertical and horizontal orientation, edge and background colors, and transparency. The easy to use slider and button controls make this an easy to leam, fun to apply special effect.
COMBINE EFFECTS
Photo/Graphic Edges allows the flexibility to combine different edge effects from any of the three volumes. This allows users to customize and create their own edge variations to match their needs. A user may, for example, combine a darkroom transfer effect from Volume 1 with a water color washout edge from Volume III to create a totally new look.
In addition, Photo/Graphic Edges takes full advantage of Adobe Photoshop 3.0‘s innovative transparency standard. By using a transparent background, designers can avoid the complex masking that makes it almost impossible to merge two separate images together when using white backgrounds. Once the effect is applied, the edged image can be seamlessly layered over other images or graphics.
INTERNET-READY
Using an image editing application, like Photoshop, Photo/Graphic Edges‘ special effects can easily be uploaded as Intemet-compatible JPEG or GIF formatted files. Photo/Graphic Edges‘ portability to the Internet will create a bonanza of new special effects for Web page designers.
